close ups

Hey guys so i am a custom knifemaker and i need a new camera for close up shots the one i have gets worse as you get closer and sometimes you cant tell the small differences in the type of finish i put on the metal. i like the idea of being able to change len's but i need to find one that will do close up on its own i dont have the money right now for the camera and lens i wrote a email to both cannon and nikon and bot sugested a 400 $ camera and a 400$ lens that i dont have i dont even have...
